Student Voice

At Bayles Regional Primary School all students are encouraged to develop their leadership skills in order to support fellow students and to benefit the wider community. Opportunities to develop these qualities are provided through a range of learning experiences, both in their everyday school life and in targeted leadership programs. Every student is encouraged to build their own sense of themselves as leaders.

Student Voice is students actively participating in decision making within their school on things that shape their educational experience.

Student voice creates a positive environment and culture, increases the overall engagement in learning, and allows for students and teachers to design solutions and learning experiences together as well as promoting connection and a sense of belonging. At Bayles Regional Primary school we have 8 amazing students from Foundation – Year 6 that represent out Student Voice team. We value the perspectives and opinions of our students and our staff collaboratively act on these in a way that shapes the learning and decision making at school.

Each student has a “Voice Box” that lives in their grade. Students are encouraged to voice any ideas and suggestions they have and place these into the boxes. Student Voice Representatives then bring these boxes to fortnightly meetings where we unpack them and make a plan moving forward to address their suggestions.
