Policies

Should you wish to obtain a copy of a particular policy, please email the school and a copy will be provided to you.
Attendance:
Parents are legally responsible for the continuing attendance of their child at school. Attendance is compulsory during the normal school hours and absences can greatly affect your child’s progress.

Absences or Late Arrival:
If your child is absent for any period of time, you must provide a note to your child’s classroom teacher immediately upon return from absence. As a matter of courtesy we would also request a phone call to the school and our office staff will pass the message onto the classroom teacher. Please note that children should only be absent if they are ill or if there are exceptional circumstances. Attending a party, going shopping, “just having a day off with Mum” are NOT reasons to be absent. Sustained absences from school for no acceptable reason will be dealt with by the principal.
Students are expected to be on time at the beginning of the day. Students arriving late are disruptive to the class and interfere with other students’ learning. Often too, the child arriving late can be very distressed and he/she can miss out on important information. Parents must accompany their child to the office for a late pass if they arrive after the 9:00am bell.

Uniform:
Students are expected to be in full uniform every day. Correct sports uniform must be worn to inter-school sports events such as District Athletics and Cross Country.

Money and Valuables:
These are brought to school at your own risk. The school takes no responsibility for lost belongings. Personal devices such as mobile phones need to be handed in to the office and will be returned to the student at the end of the day. All money brought to school for excursion payments etc need to be handed to the classroom teacher so it can be processed through the cash book system.

Medications:
If your child requires medication please see the office staff. No medication is to be kept in the classroom or in students bags. Medication must be handed to the office staff to be kept in the First Aid room. All medication dosages and times for administering the medication must be clearly marked on the medication with a chemist label.

Privacy: The Department of Education and Training (which includes all Victorian government schools, central and regional offices) values the privacy of every person and is committed to protecting information that schools collect. All staff, service providers (contractors) and agents, (whether paid or unpaid) of the Department, and this Victorian government school (our school), must comply with Victorian privacy law and this policy.
