Not only do we offer high quality programs in Literacy, Numeracy, Inquiry, ICT and Specialist Subjects in STEM, Phys Ed, Languages (AUSLAN) and Grow 4 Growth (Kitchen Garden Inspired Program). We also implement numerous extra-curricular programs to enhance the development and education of all our students. Here is a snapshot of some of the activities on offer at Bayles Regional Primary School:
iPads (Technology): At Bayles Regional Primary School we have two iPad programs currently on offer. BYOD- Bring Your Own Device.
The Senior School Year 5 and 6 students are part of the BYOD program to class. The students own the iPads and can take them home each day. Families are responsible for ensuring they come to school fully charged each day ready to use with the apps required by the classroom and software updated. We also offer School Managed Devices, where the school owns these devices and updates and uploads apps onto them. The children borrow the iPad daily while in these grades but are not allowed to take them home.
MARC Library Van: (Mobile Area Resource Centre). Every Wednesday we have a visit from the MARC Van where the children participate in an extra library lesson and are able to borrow books of their choice for the week.
Public Speaking: With the support of Rotary and the Lions Club we participate in public speaking competitions that involve all senior classes.
Leadership Opportunities: School Captains, Sports Captains, Green Team and Junior School Council captains are all formal opportunities for children to enhance their leadership skills. Our school captains run the whole school assembly every Friday and Junior School Council (representatives from every year level) ensures that our students have a voice in the overall decision making within our school.
School Camp: Every year the Year 3 - 6 attend a school camp at a variety of venues eg: Adventure Camp and Beach Camp.
Junior School Sleepover: Another exciting camping event that provides our grade 2 students with the opportunity to spend a night/evening away from their parents in preparation for the senior school camp. The Foundation and grade 1 students have a late night stay.
Fundraising: Year 6 organises a fun run each year to raise money for their graduation activities including an end of year fun day.
Sports Carnivals: Swimming, athletics, cross country, inter-school sports.
Musicals/Whole School Performances:Christmas Concerts, whole school musicals and choir.
Environmental and Gardening Opportunities: Planting, cultivating and cooking fruit and vegetables.
Caring for our resident pets and animals: We have chickens and guinea pigs that the children look after. We are also mindful that our school is a habitat for the endangered Southern Brown Nosed Bandicoot and therefore we ensure that our grounds are suitably vegetated. We also have a beautiful Frog Bog that is a pristine and natural environment complete with seating so that the children can enjoy the peaceful surrounds.
Special Events: Mobile March, Active April, Grandparents Day, Mothers Day morning tea, Fathers Day Breakfast, Literacy and Numeracy Week activities, Open Days etc.
