Foundation B
Welcome back everyone! I hope you had an enjoyable break and are ready for an amazing year.
In Foundation B we strive to give each student the opportunity to develop to their highest potential in a caring environment. Our students enjoy learning through the use of hands-on tasks, technology and co-operation with their peers. Each student is valued and encouraged to achieve their learning goals. We foster a sense of positivity and respect while on our quest for achievement.
For Literacy, we learn our letter sounds, how to read and write through the Jolly Phonics program. This is full of fun actions and songs to go with each sound that we learn. We have also started a new Writing program this year called Talk for Writing. This involves a lot of oral language and the use of hand gestures to tell stories.
For Numeracy we have four one-hour sessions a week which focus on the mathematical concept being taught. Once a week, students are engaged in our Maths program - ‘Math Ninjas’ which allows our students to develop their mental math skills.
Students are also immersed in a range of extra-curricular activities throughout the week. These include; MARC Van, Physical Education, STEM, Auslan, The Arts and PMP.
